Hi Everyone,

We are ramping up our planning for outdoor activities as we make progress against the pandemic. Please check out the activities coming up in the next few weeks.

Read the newsletter carefully – there is a lot of information in here starting with this weekend.

You will also see a calendar of outdoor Troop activities from now until August. Please get these on your calendar!

SATURDAY, March 27 – Bunker Hill Forest Preserve

- Cooking Skills Outing – 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
We have rescheduled the Cooking Skills Outing to Saturday, March 27 at 9:00 AM at Bunker Hill. All Scouts who will be cooking need to let Mr. Gulliford what cooking gear you will need so that we can arrange to get it there for you. The permission slip for the Cooking Outing and Webelos Crossover is in the Resource Center.

- Webelos Crossover to Troop 965 – 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
The Troop will be welcoming new Scouts into our ranks at the annual Webelos Crossover Ceremony. We are asking all of our Scouts and Leaders to be there (in Class A uniforms) to welcome the new Scouts to membership in Troop 965.

- Council Virtual Merit Badge Academy
The Pathway to Adventure Council is pleased to announce its spring virtual merit badge academy! Between February 20 and May 22, Scouts can sign up for classes led by expert merit badge counselors. To see what classes are available and to register, use this link: https://scoutingevent.com/456-VirtualMBA2021

- Covid Safety Update
We have added a check-off on the Troop permission slip that allows parents to confirm that their Scout is following the Covid Checklist. When you are signing the permission slip for an activity you will need to check off on the permission slip that your son is compliant with the Covid rules.

The prohibition against carpooling to events remains in place for the time being. Please cooperate with this rule so that we aren’t forced to restrict a Scout from Troop activities.

All of these rules are designed to keep our Scouts, parents, and leaders safe. We need your cooperation in order to keep the Scouting program going while we work our way through the pandemic. We appreciate your cooperation.

Please feel free to reach out to me (pelrine.john@gmail.com or 773-206-7160) with any questions you might have.

- BSA Health Forms for 2021
Please check your email for the note about BSA health forms. They are due back to the Troop by May 31, 2021. Questions can be directed to Pete Stolarski at stolarskip@att.net.

See you at the Cooking Skills Outing and Crossover this Saturday!
