Hi everyone,
- No Troop Meeting on July 1 – Happy Fourth of July!
- Next Troop Meeting – July 8 – 7:00 pm – Final Summer Camp Prep – Ahearn Center (Gym)
Scouts and adults who are going to Owasippe need to be in attendance for this meeting. We will be reviewing packing lists and double-checking the paperwork. If you are not going to camp, you are welcome to come to the meeting – but you could also take the night off. It’s up to you.
Class B uniforms - please!
- T-Shirt Money Due – July 8
Please plan to turn in your $15.00 t-shirt payment before the Car Wash on July 13. Thank you!
- Health Forms are Now Overdue
If you haven’t submitted your annual health form you may not attend any Troop activities or meetings. The BSA policy is very clear about this. If there is an overriding issue, please contact Mr. Stolarski to get his guidance on how to proceed.
- Hiking and Orienteering Outing Wrap-Up
We had a crew of ten Scouts and adults beat the heat early last Saturday morning to complete a 6.6-mile hike, including an orienteering course in Miami Woods. We split into two teams and worked the course from opposite ends. Both teams did well and arrived back at the starting point at the same time. Thanks to Scout Chris for preparing a delicious trail lunch of beans and rice for the hikers!
- Bike Hike Review
13 bikers rode from St. Juliana to the Linne Woods Forest Preserve on Dempster Street in Morton Grove last Monday night. The ride was 7.5 miles, and it appears everyone had a good time. We got back just in time to before a summer thunderstorm came through. Thanks to Mr. Reese and Mr. Mandelin for serving as the bike marshals and guiding the group through city traffic and the forest preserves.
- Car Wash – Saturday, July 13 – 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM - MARK YOUR CALENDAR!
We need all Scouts and leaders on deck for the Car Wash. We are also requesting help from parents. This is our main fundraiser, and it also serves as a unifying activity that has everyone working together as a unit. We can really use help from parents for this event.
Summer is here! Happy Fourth of July!
