Hi everyone,
- No Troop Meeting on Memorial Day - May 26
There is no Troop meeting on the 26th. I hope everyone has a relaxing holiday weekend. The weather is supposed to be improving over the next few days (I hope!) so maybe summer is finally coming.
- Next Troop Meeting - June 2
We will be talking about summer camp sign-ups and hopefully having some time for open gym.
Class B uniforms for everyone!
- St. Juliana Parish Picnic - Sunday, June 1 - First Aid Station
We have been asked to provide a first aid station for the parish picnic on Sunday, June 1 at Bunker Hill Forest Preserve. Scouts who need service hours or who want to help out are needed from noon until 4:00 to staff the station.
Please send me an email if you are interested in helping out. Scouts and adults who volunteer to staff the first aid station eat for free! Thanks.
- Owasippe Final Payment is Due June 16
If you are going to summer camp, your final payment of $390 is due by the June 16 Troop meeting. Checks should be made out to Troop 965.
- May Camping Weekend at Warren Dunes
15 Scouts and Leaders spent a weekend camping at Warren Dunes last weekend. The Scouts said they ate well and enjoyed climbing the dunes along the shore of Lake Michigan. The crew also participated in a service project at the Dunes to clear invasive plants from the dunes.
- T-Shirts Sizes Needed!
We are ready to order the latest and greatest Troop t-shirt, but we need to know everyone’s shirt size. Please send me your Scout’s t-shirt size (adult sizes) as soon as possible.
- Patrol Leader Council Meeting - Monday, June 9 - 7:00 PM
- Troop Trailer Update
If you were camping on the recent Dunes weekend outing you know that the trailer was badly damaged by debris on Interstate 94 near Valparaiso, Indiana. The axle was bent, two tires were destroyed, and the left fender was torn off. The good news is no one was hurt and no other vehicles were damaged. Mr. Gulliford found a trailer repair place nearby and a group of leaders took the trailer to the repair shop last Tuesday. The trailer was ready to roll again on Thursday and is now back in its spot in the St. Juliana parking lot. Special thanks to Mr. Gulliford, Mr. Perez, and Mr. Connolly for their assistance in getting the trailer repaired and back into service.
