Hi everyone,

- Next Troop Meeting – November 4 – 7:00-9:00 pm in the School Hall
This coming Monday night we are planning to work on rank advancement (bring your Handbook – it’s part of your  uniform!). We will also have fitness testing for those Scouts who need it (see below), and the first of four training  sessions for the upcoming First Aid Meet (details below). Class A uniforms for everyone! (Scouts doing the fitness  test, keep reading!) Thank you!

- Fitness Testing
Those Scouts who need fitness testing for rank advancement will be doing the testing at our next meeting. At the end  of the last meeting, Mr, Gulliford called out 4 Scouts in particular who need this done. If you are going to do the fitness  testing, wear comfortable workout clothes under your Class A uniform. Your Class A is still required for the rest of  the meeting.

- First Aid Meet
Our Troop is going to compete in a first aid meet on Sunday December 1 at Harper College in Palatine. Teams of 4 to 6  Scouts from all over the Council will be given simulated first aid scenarios and will be scored based on how well they  apply their first aid knowledge and skills. We will do 4 training sessions beforehand (every Monday in November),  and any Scout who is interested is welcome to do the training, even if you do not want to be part of the competition. A lot of what we will be doing is required for rank advancement and for the First Aid Merit Badge  (which is one of the badges you must do in order to make it to Eagle Scout). Therefore, if you are planning to do the  training (even just a part of it), you might want to talk to Mr. Gulliford about signing up for the Merit Badge so that you will get credit for all the things you learn. There is no time limit on Merit Badges, so you might as well get the credit  you work for!
