- October Camping – October 25-27 - White Pines State Forest, Oregon, IL
We’re headed to a beautiful state park with a great youth campground. There are good opportunities for hiking and fishing. Most importantly though, we are going to work on camp cooking. We’ll see who has the best Dutch oven recipe or the best hot breakfast or the best trail lunch. We’ll talk more at the Court of Honor.
The permission slip is on the website and is due at the October 21 Troop meeting. We will update everyone at the October 21 Court of Honor this coming Monday.
- Fire Building Skills – October 28
We’ll be working on fire building skills in two weeks – October 28. It will be a contest to see if you can build a cooking fire the fastest. Start collecting your supply of wood – tinder, kindling and fuel - for the meeting, so you can build the winning fire! Fabulous prizes may be available!!
- Service Hours Opportunity – Cub Scout Spaghetti Dinner – November 2
The Cub Scout Spaghetti Dinner is a great opportunity to earn some service hours for rank advancement and to also help a good cause in our parish. You can check with Mrs. Albanito about how you can help.
- November Merit Badge Workshop - Saturday November 16 - 9 am to Noon
Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Road - Fellowship Hall (on Algonquin Road, East of IL 59 and West of the Palatine Road intersection)
The Clinic features traditional counselor meetings for over 60 merit badges including all three Citizenship merit badges, and many STEM, rare and new merit badges. The final list of merit badges available will be provided once counselors have been confirmed.
