From Brian Pritt: There is an opportunity for a conservation service project – which is needed to advance in rank and to complete merit badges - at Skokie Lagoons. - Earn Merit Badges by Going to School
Check out this article about merit badges that you can earn pretty much just by going to school. If you are interested in pursuing one or more of these, let me know and we will get you in touch with a counselor. Here is a link to the article describing the badges:
- Update on the Tote Board!!
We’ll post the latest Tote Board numbers Monday night so you can see how you are doing at racking up hiking and paddling miles, spending nights camping, and doing service and attending Scout Mass. Some guys are putting up some impressive numbers. If your numbers are lagging, there is a lot coming up in the next few months, so you’re not out of the running yet for the prizes we’ll award in January.
- Rolling Meadows Park District Merit Badge Workshops
The Rolling Meadows Park District is offering four merit badge workshops (Woodcarving, Leatherwork, Painting, Textiles) during the fall. Here is the link to the Park District if you are interested in checking it out: http://rmparks.org/.
- Playdium Swimming Opportunity – Fall Season Starts on October 15
Please check the Troop website (Resources page) for information about swim training and merit badges at the Playdium in Glenview. The Playdium is an excellent place to learn how to swim, become a stronger swimmer and earn Swimming and Lifesaving merit badges. The quality of instruction is top notch!
