Every Scout should be represented by a parent at this critical meeting.
Hi everyone,
- Next Meeting – Monday, March 4 – 7:00 pm – PARENTS ONLY - School Hall
The Spring Court of Honor has been postponed indefinitely. On March 4 the Troop’s adult leadership will be meeting with the parents of Scouts to discuss many important topics. It is very important that every Scout is represented by a parent at this meeting.
We will be discussing:
- Cyber bullying
- Updated Troop cell phone policy
- Annual BSA Health Forms
- Summer Camp at Owasippe
- Scoutbook - the Online System for Tracking Advancement
February 23-25 Cabin Camp-Out Wrap-Up
We had a fun weekend at BSA Camp Topenebee. Scout Chis Z (Some know him as Dr. Z!) oversaw meals for the Scouts and he did a great job. The Scouts ate well and were appreciative of his menu and cooking. We also had Scouts working on advancement – Louie and Brian both completed the rank of Tenderfoot while we were on the weekend. Chris Z moved closer to completing Geocaching merit badge by setting up a geocaching course for the crew and Louie made progress on First Aid merit badge with Mr. Mandelin.
- Engineering Merit Badge Opportunity – Starts Wednesday, March 6 – Park Ridge Library
Scouts who are interested in earning Engineering Merit Badge should send an email to Louie’s father, Mr. Adrian Perez ([email protected]). The first meeting will be Wednesday, March 6th at the Park Ridge Library. Mr. Perez will let you know details about earning the badge.
- Catholic Religious Award for Boy Scouts
The Troop is making plans to offer the Ad Altare Dei (To the Altar of God) award to our members. More information will be available soon. Here is a picture of the ribbon/medal that is given to those who complete the program.
- April 26-28 Backpacking Weekend – Starved Rock State Park – Camping and Hiking
Mr. Gulliford has made reservations for a weekend of camping and hiking at Starved Rock State Park. The Park has great hiking trails, seasonal waterfalls, canyons, and views of the Illinois River.
Mark your calendar and watch for more information.
