Hi everyone,
There is a lot going on these days. Between Holy Week, Easter, and Spring Break trips I’m sure everyone is very busy.
That said – Please take a few minutes to read this newsletter. The Troop has several activities coming up in the next couple weeks.
- Upcoming Activities
- Next Meeting – Monday, April 18 – Court of Honor/Summer Camp Info Session – School Hall
We hold only two Courts of Honor each year. This is an opportunity for parents and families to see their Scout recognized for his rank advancement and merit badges. It is also a good time to find out what is happening in the Troop. We will also hold an information session about summer camp at Owasippe as part of the Court of Honor. Registration for summer camp opens on April 30 so we want to give you the information you’ll need to plan for camp.
Please make every effort to attend this important meeting on April 18.
We need Scouts and Leaders to arrive at 7:00 for set-up. Families are invited to arrive at 7:30.
- Scouting for Food Wrap-Up
A big THANK YOU goes to the Scouts, parents, and leaders who helped with Scouting for Food over the last two Saturdays. We collected over 800 pieces of food for people in need. A special shout-out goes to Scouts Colin, Roman, Javi, Jimmy, and Jonah for helping on both Saturday mornings. I also want to thank Mr. Gulliford for organizing the project and helping run the Drive at the district level.
- Easter Vigil Fire – Saturday, April 16 – 6:00 pm
Fr. Siemianowski has requested the Troop’s assistance in building the Easter Vigil Fire in front of the church this coming Saturday. We are gathering in front of church at 6:00 to set up and light the fire. We will be done by 7:15. Please wear your Class A uniform and nice pants.
- A Request from Colin about His Eagle Project – This Saturday morning!

- A Request from Colin about His Eagle Project – This Saturday morning!
Hi everyone,
It’s hard to believe that 7 years have gone by so fast, and I am now working on becoming an Eagle Scout. I am grateful for the strong network of support I've had from our troop leaders and my family. I truly would not have gotten this far without them.
My Eagle Scout project will be done at the Wildwood Nature Center in Park Ridge. My project will be building 12 (4’x4’x16”) composite wood planter boxes and relocating plant identification signposts for the Wildwood Nature Center native prairie plant area.
Before any construction can begin the signposts first have to be dug out. I’m looking to arrange for a crew to come out to Wildwood Nature Center on Saturday, April 16th to dig out the signposts. I will have a sign-up sheet at this Monday's April 11th troop meeting. The scheduled work time is 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. I hope all of you will be able to come help. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.
Thank you.
Colin
