Hi everyone,
- Next Troop Meeting – February 6 – School Hall - 7:00-9:00 PM
We spent most of the last Troop meeting sorting socks and prepping them for delivery to Cornerstone Community Outreach. More about the Sock Drive can be found below.
We are uber-focused on the trip to Cornerstone on Saturday and the Eagle Court of Honor on Sunday. Details about Monday’s meeting are not set yet, but I promise it will be an interesting meeting.
If you participate in either the trip to Cornerstone on Saturday or the Eagle Court of Honor on Sunday you can wear a Class B uniform on Monday night.
- Sock Drop-Off at Cornerstone Community Outreach – Saturday, February 4 – 8:30 AM
This coming Saturday we will be delivering the socks and underwear to Cornerstone. We will meet at the Parish Center at 8:30 AM to load up and go. We should be back by 10:30 or 11:00.
Scouts and leaders should wear their black Troop polos. I will have blank permission slips with me on Saturday morning for parents to sign.
- Eagle Court of Honor – Sunday, February 5 – 3:00 – Ahearn Center (Gym)
Colin Albanito and Aiden Rice will be formally recognized for earning the rank of Eagle Scout. The Eagle Court of Honor is a very moving event as Scouts are recognized for reaching the pinnacle of Scouting.
Scouts and Leaders need to arrive at 2:00 to prepare for the Court of Honor. This is Class A uniform (with school pants) event!
- Sock Drive Summary- Record Numbers
Nearly every Scout helped with the Sock Drive over the last two weekends. Thanks to all of them and the leaders and parents who also helped. The Drive was a smashing success!
Here are the very impressive numbers:
Funds collected: $2,965 – double the amount of money collected last year!
The people of St. Juliana are very generous!
A big THANK YOU to Assistant Scoutmaster Mike Reese for coordinating the Sock Drive. He was super organized and put us in a position to do as well as we did. Thanks Mike! We will be nominating him for the honorary title of Mr. Socks!
- Michigan City Coast Guard Station Visit – Saturday, May 13 – Mark Your Calendar
We have a date confirmed for our visit to the Michigan City Coast Guard Station. It should be a great outing, so hold the spot on your calendar. More details will be forthcoming.
See you this weekend!
