Hi everyone,
- Next Meeting – July 24 – School Hall – 7:00-8:00 PM – NOTE: Early End Time!
We will re-cap the Car Wash and the week at Camp Blackhawk (Go!). If you have pictures you took at either event, please bring them with you on a memory stick or SD card. We’ll have a computer on hand to put them up on the screen.
Uniform of the Night is pajamas – tops or bottoms or both. Be creative!
- Car Wash Recap
We had a very successful Car Wash! Thank you to the Scouts, parents, and leaders who came out to help make it run smoothly. The weather cooperated with the rain holding off and the temperature staying manageable. We washed 62 cars and 1 bike! The proceeds from the Car Wash will help us keep the cost of activities low going into the next year of camping, canoeing, and other outings.
We are very grateful for the parishioners of St. Juliana who readily support us in everything we do. A few parishioners came by who declined a car wash, but still gave us a significant donation. Thanks also to Fr. John Siemianowski who came by to cheer us on.

- Des Plaines River Canoe Outing – Saturday, August 19
We are hoping to go canoeing on the Des Plaines River in Lake County on August 19. We need to make sure we have enough leaders and parents to run the outing safely. Parents who are interested in joining us for a fun day trip are encouraged to sign up. There is no charge for this trip. We will launch from Independence Grove Forest Preserve in Libertyville and finish the trip at the Route 60 landing in Vernon Hills.
The Des Plaines River in Lake County is clear and warm at this point in the summer. There are shallow sand bars where we can get out and cool off in the water – read water wars! The wildlife is abundant – ducks, geese, heron, deer, signs of beaver, and a rare eagle sighting.

- Superdawg Fundraiser to Benefit Troop 965 – August 14-20
We have arranged with Superdawg on Milwaukee Avenue (Chicago and Wheeling) for a Troop fundraiser. During the week of August 14-20 anyone who gets food from Superdawg and presents our coupon will help the Troop earn 20% of the amount spent. For example: If you buy two Superdawgs, the Troop earns $3.18. We will start distributing the coupon soon.
See you Monday night!
Mr. Pelrine
