- Next Troop Meeting is the FALL COURT OF HONOR – Monday, September 19 – School Hall
7:00 PM – Troop members gather for set-up
7:30 PM – Parents and families gather – Court of Honor begins
Please join us for the Fall Court of Honor. The Scouts will be receiving recognition for advancing in rank and earning merit badges. It is important to the Scouts that members of their family are present to support them in Scouting. We will also be reviewing activities of the past few months and previewing upcoming plans. The Court of Honor will conclude with refreshments by 8:45.
Class A uniforms (Scout shirt, neckerchief, slide, and BSA Handbook) for all Scouts and Leaders!
- Night Hike and Trail Dinner Wrap-Up
We had a crew of 14 take part in the Night Hike last week. We hiked on the North Branch trail in the Forest Preserves. We stopped at a picnic shelter to enjoy our backpacking dinners. The hikers had a choice of freeze-dried lasagna, beef stroganoff, or chicken risotto. A group of deer came into the grove during dinner, and the sun set while we were eating. As we got back on the trail a full moon and the planet Jupiter rose in the eastern sky.

- Camping This Weekend at BSA Camp Lowden
Here are some reminders for those signed up for the Webelos Outdoor Weekend at Camp Lowden. We have a combined group of 32 Webelos Scouts, Boy Scouts, leaders, and parents. It should be a great outing.
Campers should remember to bring:
- Class A uniform (Scout shirt, neckerchief, slide, and BSA Handbook)
- money for dinner on the road Friday night
- personal water bottle
- rain gear
- sun protection
- day pack for hiking around camp
We will meet up at the St. Juliana Parish Center on Friday at 5:00 to load the trailer and get on the road.

Thanks to the above-named Scouts for offering their service to the Troop.
We want to extend a special word of thanks to Luke and Aidan for their more than three years of service as Senior Patrol Leaders (SPL). Luke and Aidan stepped into the position in July 2019. By the time they had served their one-year term Covid had taken hold and changing leaders was impractical, if not impossible. They agreed to stay in their positions indefinitely. I have no doubt they are the longest serving SPLs in the Troop’s 90-year history. A big THANK YOU to both.

We will be going on the Order of the Arrow Haunted Hike in October. Mark your calendar and watch for more details coming soon.
- Summer Camp 2023 Dates are Set
We are confirmed for a week at Camp Blackhawk (Go!) for Sunday, July 16 to Saturday, July 22, 2023.
